John Lilley is EMEA Director for The Telecom Intelligence Group and Publisher for Tarifica. He is responsible for expanding the product line and building out the business in the region and for Tarifica operations. He has over 15 years of international experience as a trusted advisor, strategic consultant and industry commentator on next generation telecommunications services.

Prior to joining Access Intelligence, Mr. Lilley was Sector Vice President, Communications at Gartner. In this global company-wide role, he led business development efforts amongst a client base that included the world’s leading telecommunications operators, equipment manufacturers, broadcasters and media companies. Mr. Lilley specialized in working with the leadership teams of fixed and mobile operators in Asia-Pacific and Europe.

In his nine-year tenure with Gartner, Mr. Lilley held a variety of other senior positions including Director, European Telecommunications Group and Chief Analyst Worldwide for Public Network Services. He devised and launched many new ground-breaking research programs including Voice over Packet Networks, Internet Access Europe, IP Backbone Strategies and Internet Infrastructure. Mr. Lilley formulated and directed Gartner’s research agenda during the liberalization of European telephony markets and introduced actionable analysis of the voice and data wholesale markets.

Previously, Mr. Lilley started-up and led the European news operation for the IT/ Telecommunications publishing arm of Phillips Business Information Inc.(now known as Access Intelligence). He launched five fortnightly newsletters: Broadband Networking News, Communications Standards News, Electronic Messaging News, ISDN News, Multimedia News as well as creating training courses in the areas of ATM, ISDN and the Internet.

Mr. Lilley began his career as a magazine journalist before editing a range of newspapers. During a five-year period, he covered a diverse range of topics including Workstations, Servers, Communications Engineering, Business Jets and Automobiles.

Mr. Lilley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Sheffield.
